Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by 1&1 IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you open a page, the web server automatically records the requested address, the date and time, the amount of data transferred, the browser type and version, the operating system, the referring page and your IP address.
This data is required to deliver the page and to detect and investigate technical faults and misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website. The log files are deleted by the hosting provider after a short period and are not merged with other data.
Cookies
This website sets exactly one cookie: gi_lang. It stores the language you selected so that the site opens in that language on your next visit. It contains nothing but a two-letter language code, is valid for one year and you can delete it in your browser at any time.
Because the cookie only does what you asked for by choosing a language, it is strictly necessary within the meaning of section 25(2) TDDDG and does not require consent. No analytics, tracking or advertising cookies are used, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Fonts
The fonts used on this site are hosted on this server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other external provider, so your IP address is not transmitted to a third party in order to display text.
No analytics, no advertising, no social media
This website contains no analytics tools, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks, no social media plugins and no embedded videos or maps. Nothing on this site profiles you.
Contact by email
If you write to the address given above, your message and the details it contains will be stored in order to answer it. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message concerns a contract or its initiation, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The message is deleted once it is no longer needed and no retention obligation applies.
Contact form
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. These details are transmitted to my mailbox by email and used solely to deal with your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract or its initiation, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest being the ability to answer enquiries.
To keep automated spam out, the form checks how much time passed between opening and submitting it and contains a field that is invisible to human visitors. No captcha service and no other third-party provider is involved, so no data leaves this server for that purpose. The message is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no retention obligation applies.
Links to DocMind
Links on this website lead to DocMind at docmind.geekinfinity.net. That is a separate service with its own privacy policy, which applies as soon as you use it. Simply following the link does not transfer any personal data beyond the usual connection data.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you (Article 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Article 16), erased (Article 17) or its processing restricted (Article 18), to data portability (Article 20), and to object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21). An informal message to the address above is enough.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR). The competent authority here is: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg, Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany.
